Zoom Instructions for the Kol Shalom Virtual Gala

If you have never used Zoom, start here:

​

If you do not already have a Zoom account, go to zoom.us to sign up. When you join your first Zoom session, you will be prompted to download the Zoom client. Or you can download it from the Zoom website (go to “Resources” at the top). This will save you time later.

​

For a phone or tablet, download the Zoom app from the App Store. Note: While accessing Zoom with a cell phone or tablet may seem convenient, the best experience is on a laptop or desktop computer. 

 

Join the Zoom session for the Gala at 5:15 pm by clicking the link you will receive via email before the event.

​

The Virtual Gala starts promptly at 5:30 pm but signing in early will ensure you are connected properly. You will be sent the zoom link after registration.

​

You will be placed in the Waiting Room. Please wait for the host to admit you to the session. Upon being admitted, you will be muted due to the large number of people participating. Use the Chat feature to greet your friends.

​

During the Gala, the best view is Speaker View. On a computer, you can find the Speaker View/Gallery View toggle button at the top right of the Zoom session window. On a tablet or phone, swiping left/right toggles between those views.
