From Religious School Director Rabbi Nina
Dear Kol Shalom Family:

Welcome to the new in-person school year at CKS. We are so glad that you will be joining us for a wonderful school year of in-person learning with a dedicated staff of local classroom teachers.

I am very excited for our new and returning students and their families to learn together. Our Religious School is for grades 1-7 and includes a one-on-one Hebrew learning option for children in grades 4 and above (or younger by request) with our remote Hebrew tutor. Our teachers will be using the Shalom Learning curriculum as a basis of instruction with enrichment opportunities like art and dance throughout the school year provided by skilled artists from our community. Each Sunday will provide a rich Jewish experience based on Jewish values and tradition. We will celebrate Jewish identity with joy and pride.

B’nai Mitzvah students will meet with Rabbi Darío as a class on Sundays and have private tutoring on Wednesdays. There will also be new opportunities for our youngest congregants and teens, and holiday celebrations throughout the year for all children and families.

Please mark your calendars for a fun Back to School visit at Kol Shalom on Sunday, August 25, from 12 to 2 pm. Come meet our new teachers, tour the classrooms, and enjoy light refreshments. Activities for children will be provided.

I look forward to getting to know you better and learning together this year. If you have
any questions or want to share your skills, please contact me at 206.825.1199 or  rabbinina@kolshalom.net. My regular workdays are Sunday and Wednesday.

L’Shalom,
Rabbi Nina King-Madlem, she/hers
