Congregation Kol Shalom offers Hebrew and Jewish education for children up to B’nai Mitzvah age. We offer classes at different levels, roughly determined by the age of the child.
Kita Gan is our youngest class, with children preschool through age 4 ½ (pre-kindergarten). Kita Alef is the class for grades K-1. Both classes enjoy Torah stories, crafts, snack time, and holiday observances taught within a Jewish context. Both Kita Gan and Kita Alef meet on Sunday morning only.
Kita Bet covers grades 2 and 3, Kita Dalet is composed of grades 4 and 5, and the B’nai Mitzvah class is 6 and 7. As well as learning Torah and Jewish holiday observances, these classes study Hebrew. Kita Bet, Dalet and B'nai Mitzvah meet on Sunday morning and Wednesday after school. Older classes participate in community service projects and study of Jewish history.
The 2011-12 school year started September 11 and has been filled with exciting learning opportunities. The school provides many benefits to your children as they grow and change, especially the sense of belonging. As members of CKS’s Religious School, they can enjoy a sense of belonging in our little corner of the world, surrounded by a warm community and kids their own age of the same faith.
